Zusammenfassung

ScionHealth’s Livingston Regional Hospital seeks a Patient Sitter to provide continuous observation and safety for patients requiring enhanced monitoring. You will stay within sight, assist with non-clinical tasks, and support nursing staff, ensuring a secure and compassionate environment.

Under RN supervision, you will accompany patients to tests, report changes promptly, and uphold infection control standards while delivering emotional support and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifikationen

• Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• BCLS certification required.
• NCI certification required.

Aufgaben

• Maintain constant visual observation of assigned patient; never leave the patient alone or out of sight.
• Alert nursing staff promptly when patient requires assistance or shows changes in condition.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
• Accompany patients off unit for tests or procedures, remaining in close proximity.
• Record patient behavior and significant events as directed.
• Adhere to infection control and isolation procedures in accordance with facility policies.
• Follow RN directions regarding observation protocols, documentation, and response to patient behaviors.
• Perform basic support tasks including helping set up meal trays, removing trash, and assisting with linens.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
• Complete mandatory education and training requirements.
