Job summary

Crothall Healthcare is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Patient Observation Assistant positions at Saint Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. You will provide visual/audible observation under RN supervision and may rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Prior healthcare experience is required, CPR/BLS certification within 30 days may apply per facility. Compensation ranges from $15.00 to $16.25 per hour with comprehensive benefits for eligible full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Takes initiative in compassionately rendering service or responding to needs; interacts hospitably with staff, patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Remains at the bedside of the patient unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Verbally redirects the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors.
• Escalates to assigned medical professionals when needed.
• Participates in identifying and reporting patient safety issues and maintains a safe patient environment.
• Assists with calming and reorienting the patient during agitation or confusion.
• Assists with keeping the patient's room safe and orderly.
• Accompanies the patient during diagnostic testing and notifies nurses if assistance is required.
