Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support the patient care team in a busy hospital setting in South Bend, IN. The role involves direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, clerical and reception duties, and coordination with nursing staff to ensure efficient unit operations.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA preferred, and be able to obtain BCLS/CPR within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred.
• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Certification as Nurse Assistant preferred; CPR/BLS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admission and discharge processes.
• Bathing, hygiene, bed making, and daily room care.
• Assist with feeding and meal tray delivery.
• Take and record vital signs and monitor patient status.
• Turn, reposition, assist with mobility and transfers.
• Respond to call lights and relay messages to staff.
