Job summary

Beacon Health System in South Bend, IN is seeking a Nurse Assistant to assist with admission, bathing, feeding and vital signs under RN supervision. You will support patient care on the unit and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Strong communication, reading medical terminology, and ability to work with diverse teams are essential. Must have high school diploma; CNA preferred; CPR/BCLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CNA certification preferred.
• CPR/BCLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to read and follow medical terminology and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and patients; answer calls and relay messages.
• Assist with patient admission, transfers, discharges and basic care.
• Provide bathing, dressing, meals, and hygiene assistance.
• Take and record vital signs, patient measurements and inputs/outputs.
• Assist RN with procedures and support isolation and infection control procedures.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient care areas and transportation of supplies.
