Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a PRN Transportation and Patient Care Support role. You will assist in transportation of patients and equipment, provide 1:1 sitter services, and be a key contact for patients, families, and visitors, maintaining a friendly, caring, and professional attitude.

Qualifications

• The individual must be able to work the hours specified and communicate effectively with others.
• Must have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and understand sounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and assists patient for transportation, with the help of clinical staff, ensuring Safe Patient and Family Centered care.
• Pick-up and delivery of patient equipment and supplies for repair or routine maintenance checks.
• Identifies broken or damaged equipment and reports per procedure.
• Responsible for picking up contaminated items and transporting to Central Supply for decontamination.
• Delivery and pickup of specimens, cultures and blood samples, STAT and routine.
• Provides 1:1 observation and patient care duties for patients as assigned by unit nursing staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to addressing customers' concerns and needs.
