Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Regular full-time patient care assistant to provide routine patient care and support services under the supervision of nursing staff. You will assist with ambulation, bathing, feeding, and ensuring comfort while maintaining safety and patient dignity.

Responsibilities include responding to call bells, coordinating outpatient appointments, and performing clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification is preferred or required depending on role.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and direct patient care including ambulation, bathing, positioning, meal assistance, and monitoring patient needs.
• Responds to patient call lights, assists with mail, gifts, and errands for department staff.
• Ambulates patients, measures intake/output, may collect specimens and transport.
• Answers telephone, operates paging system, and supports clinical workflows.
