Job summary

Gadsden Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff by performing delegated basic patient care tasks under RN/LPN supervision, assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient safety, and maintain a clean, organized care environment.

Candidates should have 0-2 years in acute care or be nursing students; BCLS within 90 days; CNA or CPCT certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of acute care experience or currently enrolled in nursing program.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Record and report vital signs, intake/outake, and other patient data to RN/LPN.
• Help with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and hygiene.
• Aid patient positioning, mobility, and use of walkers or wheelchairs.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform finger-stick glucose monitoring.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team.
• Follow infection control and PPE protocols and participate in safety initiatives.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies and standards.
• May provide continuous observation as required.
