Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with vital signs, daily activities, and nutritional needs, while maintaining patient safety and comfort in a hospital setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma, ability to read/write, and basic math; BLS is required within 90 days of hire. CNA preferred but not required. This is an on-site hospital position with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read/write and perform basic math.
• Desire to help people and/or aspire to healthcare professional.
• Basic computer skills (preferred).
• Medical terminology (preferred).
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Vital Signs
• Height and Weight
• Oxygen Saturation
• Reporting all unusual observations to the nurse
• Collecting various specimens for analysis
• Recording and measuring intake and output
• Providing patient with personal care and assisting with daily activities
• Performing basic clinical procedures independently or under the supervision of the RN
• Provide nutritional needs including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays and feeding.
