Job summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) position at Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) supports a decentralized, patient-centered approach under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT performs multi-skilled activities to assist with daily patient care and outcomes.

Hours are 36 per week on a rotating 12-hour schedule, with weekends and holidays required. Minimum education includes a high school diploma, with advancement paths to PCT II via additional education/experience and BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for PCT I.
• PCT II requires either an Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 1 year PCT experience at MUSC CHS, or 1 year healthcare facility experience, or active nursing school enrollment, or CNA/CMA certification.
• BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Support decentralized patient-centered care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform multi-skilled activities to assist with patient care and outcomes.
• Adhere to a 36-hour work week on 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
