Qualifications

• Patient Care Technician I: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Patient Care Technician II: High school diploma/GED and ONE of the following requirements must be met.
• • Associate or Bachelor's degree
• • At least 1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS
• • 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility
• • Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution
• • Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution
• • Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

• The PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
• Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT supports care delivery and ensures patient safety and comfort.
• The role may involve routine tasks, observation, documentation, and coordination with the care team.
