Job summary

Virtua Hospital Ambulatory Surgery in Voorhees, NJ is hiring a Per Diem, Part-time Care Assistant for Day shift. You will support activities of daily living, communicate with the healthcare team, and assist with vital signs, point-of-care tests, and catheter care as applicable.

Training in phlebotomy/EKGs is required for relevant ED positions. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of a PCT/ CNA or RN fundamentals course, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have completed a PCT course, Fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or equivalent of 1 year direct patient care.
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Maintain standard precautions and safe patient practices, including isolation when required.
• Perform vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care (population-specific).
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified and document changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety, participate in satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement.
