Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist the care delivery team under RN direction, providing delegated, direct patient care and documenting changes, while promoting a safe, patient-centered environment.

Candidates should have completed at least the first semester of an accredited nursing program or a medical assistant/PCT program. BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Successful completion of a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, CMA, CMA-RMA, Registered Medical Assistant, CNA or EMT certification may substitute for education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to achieve expected outcomes.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to appropriate staff promptly.
• Promotes infection prevention with standard precautions and hand hygiene.
• Assists with activities of daily living and records vital signs accurately.
• Demonstrates caring relationships in line with professional practice.
