Job summary

Mercy Health in Warren, OH is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support the Med/Surg Telemetry Unit - St. Joseph 2. You’ll assist with basic patient care, monitor vital signs and help with daily activities under RN supervision.

This role emphasizes compassionate patient care, clear communication with staff and families, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols. EPIC EHR training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed one of the nursing aide training or certification options.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred or must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Experience in acute care, physician offices, home health or long-term care is a plus.
• EPIC EHR training or experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene, feeding and mobility assistance.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the nurse in charge.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care activities.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse and assist with handoffs.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures and support unit operations.
