Job summary

Mercy Health in Warren, KY is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Med Surg Telemetry at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. The role supports RN staff with basic patient care, room hygiene, vital signs and mobility assistance, while delivering compassionate, customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care to include, but not limited to, care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assists with mobility, including unit-based specialty duties.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to all patients, family, visitors and employees.
• Documents accurately and promptly for patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information at arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques and promotes independence.
• Encourages patients to participate in tasks as independently as possible.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and hobbies.
