Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care under RN supervision in the unit. You will monitor patient conditions, assist with hygiene, feeding, and mobility, and document vital signs and admissions data per policy.

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent; CNA/MA/EMT credentials are preferred and AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent is required. Prior healthcare experience is valued in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA/MA/EMT or Nursing Aide Training is preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Completion of foundations/clinical nursing course with one clinical rotation is acceptable.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent is preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct care with age-appropriate adjustments.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the care team.
• Maintain hygiene, comfort, and safety needs for patients.
• Adhere to nursing/medical plans and facility policies.
• Record vital signs and admissions data as required.
• Participate in mandatory trainings and patient safety initiatives.
