Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care under supervision of RNs or licensed practitioners. The role supports the care plan, monitors patient status, and collaborates with the health care team to ensure safety and comfort.

The ideal candidate will have a High School degree, with preferred CNA/MA/EMT credentials and BLS certification, and proven experience in a healthcare setting. This is a full-time position based in Richmond, VA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred CNA/MA/EMT credentials.
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct care to patients and monitor conditions.
• Record patient data including vitals and intake/output.
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and mobility, ensuring comfort.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked environment for patient care.
• Attend mandatory trainings and adhere to hospital policies.
