Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a nursing support professional to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will perform EKGs, assist with procedures, and support unit operations while maintaining patient safety and accurate documentation.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification. Preferred candidates have healthcare experience and CNA or equivalent credentials, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Preferred: 4 years healthcare experience and nursing service experience; CNA/certified patient care or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision, including hygiene, mobility, and vital signs.
• Document care activities per procedures and policies.
• Assist with procedures, dressings, and treatments as assigned.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and document results for RN/physician review.
• Collect and label specimens; transport as needed.
• Conduct routine point-of-care tests and document results.
• Participate in hourly rounding to monitor patient needs.
• Maintain infection control practices and patient safety measures.
• Communicate patient condition changes to RN promptly.
• Respond to call lights promptly and use AIDET when communicating.
