Job summary

VCU Health seeks a compassionate nursing assistant to provide direct patient care across units, ensuring safety and comfort for patients from neonates to geriatrics. You will collect vital signs, support daily living activities, and help maintain a clean, stocked environment in alignment with plans of care.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA certification (preferred), and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent required.
• Experience within a healthcare environment preferred.
• Completion of foundations/clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe direct care to patients and monitor their conditions.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked environment to support care.
• Record admissions data and vital signs; document changes per policy.
• Collaborate with licensed practitioners and health care team on care plans.
