Job summary

Mercy Health at Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nurses by monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and keeping patient rooms clean and ready for care. The role requires nursing aide training or CNA certification, with BLS preferred before direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have completed nursing aide training or CNA certification.
• BLS knowledge preferred, must obtain before direct patient care.
• Recent acute care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including vital signs, personal care, and assistance with mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Assists with hand-off reporting and transfer of care as needed.
• Uses safe transfer techniques to mobilize patients.
• Encourages patient independence and personal choices.
