Job summary

AtlantiCare in New Jersey is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support direct and indirect patient care under supervision. You will assist patients with personal care, communicate observations, and contribute to the plan of care.

Responsibilities include specimen collection and basic lab tasks as directed, while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork. A high school diploma, English proficiency, BLS, CPI training, and 8 weeks of patient care experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• CPI training required within 1 year of hire or transfer into the role, or until 10/31/25 for existing employees in the role.
• English language proficiency required; bilingual preferred.
• 8 weeks of patient care education or direct patient care experience required; or enrolled in a nursing school or physician assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient care under supervision.
• Assist with personal care needs and data collection.
• Collect test specimens and prepare samples for testing.
• Communicate observations to the Clinical Associate.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect in all patient interactions.
