Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care across units. The role emphasizes accuracy in bedside care, collaboration with the health care team, and continuous learning through our apprenticeship pathways.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, specimen collection, EKGs, and ensuring safe care environments while assisting with care transitions and attendance at performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Complete an approved PCT/CNA/MA program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Ability to learn quickly with accountability, teamwork and ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-related criteria.
• Communicate with nursing staff about patient status.
• Draw blood and perform venipuncture.
• Perform EKG and monitor vital signs.
• Ensure equipment is ready and the patient environment is safe.
