Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our hospital team. You will provide direct and indirect care to diverse patient populations under the supervision of a registered nurse, assist with assessments, procedures, and safety, and support patient-centered care throughout the shift.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to care plans, accurate data collection, phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, and supporting the care team from admission to discharge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT or nursing program or equivalent medical background, with HMH PCT Apprentice path as applicable.
• Experience with patient care, phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs and data documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support under RN supervision.
• Assist with assessments, procedures, safety, and patient comfort.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs and basic specimen handling as directed.
• Maintain patient care environment and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
