Job summary

The University of Virginia seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under the supervision of RNs or licensed practitioners at UVA Health. You will monitor patients, assist with hygiene and comfort, and help maintain a safe care environment in accordance with hospital policies.

Responsibilities include accurate patient identification, reporting safety concerns, collecting specimens as needed, and contributing to a positive patient experience within UVA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required (or eligible for non-certified hires).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under supervision of RN or licensed practitioner.
• Monitor patient conditions and report to health care team.
• Ensure safe, clean, stocked clinical environment.
• Assist with hygiene, comfort, and safety needs of patients.
