Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff with safe, effective patient care under supervision. You will communicate patient needs, document care in real time, protect privacy, and help with patient transfers and comfort.

You’ll work in a Medical Surgical Float Pool, complete orientation across departments, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Communicate patient needs and changes to the healthcare team.
• Document patient care in real time and maintain privacy.
• Support room and department organization and safety.
• Observe and report urgencies and life-threatening conditions.
