Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA Certification or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program required.
• Work requires successful completion of the Patient Care Technician orientation.
• Demonstrates competency in applying growth and development principles for patients of various ages.
• Communicates effectively using verbal, non‑verbal and written communication.
• Proactively takes ownership for serving customers, teams and the organization.
• Willingly adapts to changing work demands and environment.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and makes sound judgments to monitor patient needs.

• Ability to transfer and position patients, lifting up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs various activities in patient care, including routine hygiene, ingestion of food and fluids, elimination, mobilization, and dressing/undressing.
• Performs and records routine technical tasks such as collecting specimens, vitals, intake/output and glucose, giving suppositories, catheterization, bladder volume, gastric feedings, and escorting patients.
• Collects and reports pertinent physiological, psychological, and functional data based on plan of care.
• Orients patient and family to environment, activities and safety hazards as identified by the RN.
• Implements interventions per care plan as directed by the RN.
• Observes patients and reports changes in condition to RN.
• Assists in transferring patients and equipment to other areas.
• Documents care provided and other quantitative values in nursing database.
• Assists in monitoring supply needs to ensure adequate bedside inventory.
• Performs other duties as assigned in SRAlab.
