Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic daily care to patients and support families. You will assist with hygiene, daily living activities, and maintain clean patient care areas, reporting to the Nurse Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a CNA certification or current enrollment in a nursing program. You will work under RN supervision in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing safety, compassion, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic daily care to patients and support families.
• Perform routine tasks: vital signs, specimens, intake/output, glucose.
• Assist in transferring patients and equipment.
• Document care in nursing database.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient care areas.
• Monitor supply needs at bedside.
