Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at the Med Surg unit of Clermont Hospital. The role focuses on basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily needs under RN guidance. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Experience in acute care settings is preferred, and BLS is preferred with provision to obtain prior to direct patient care. Training on EPIC EHR is available, and Mercy Health emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Provides basic patient care and comfort, reports changes to nursing staff.
• Excellent communication with patients and families, and documentation of care.
• Ability to assist with mobility and daily activities as directed by RN.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care to include care, comfort, vital signs, personal hygiene.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes/concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents care accurately and promptly in the EHR.
• Participates in hand-offs with timely information for patient needs.
