Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated nursing support role to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination for stable patients. You will help with ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, and documentation while supporting RN staff in caring for acutely ill patients.

The role emphasizes medical asepsis, patient dignity, and adherence to hospital policies, with opportunities for training and advancement as part of the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2 weeks of training may be required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions; basic math.
• Preferred: Acute care experience in last 3 years and enrollment in ASN/BSN; clinical rotation completed.
• CPR – American Heart Association and background clearances required (Act 34/33, FBI).

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or documents direct patient care and activities such as ADLs, vitals, ambulation, specimen collection, I&O, and documentation.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives (bedside shift report, hourly rounding, safety, hygiene, isolation).
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints, specimens and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities like supply stocking and equipment cleaning; performs other duties as assigned.
