Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a part-time Patient Care Tech to support RN-led care on the unit. You will perform basic nursing activities, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living, and help keep patient rooms clean and organized.

This role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical, and BLS. Phlebotomy experience is preferred. The position is 48 hours per pay period, day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• Performs basic nursing activities under RN supervision, including vital signs and glucose checks.
• Assists with activities of daily living and personal care for patients.
• Communicates changes to nursing staff and supports unit workflow.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN.
• Monitors vital signs and records intake/output.
• Assists with personal care, bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and organized.
• Prioritizes tasks and handles unit workflow under supervision.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and related departments.
• Answers calls politely and relays information to staff/family/patient.
• Supports census processes and daily admission/discharge listings as needed.
