Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Care Tech to support RN-led care and perform basic nursing tasks in a busy unit. This part-time role is 48 hours per pay period, day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with alternating weekends and holidays.

Join a mission-driven team delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include vital signs, ADL assistance, reporting changes to staff, keeping rooms clean, and prioritizing unit work under pressure.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester completed preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Mansioni

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff promptly.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms.
• Prioritizes unit tasks and remains flexible under pressure.
• Liaises between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers phones/intercom and communicates with staff/family.
• Supports overall unit workflow with charge RN as needed.
• Assists with census and daily admissions/discharges as needed.

Conoscenze

Phlebotomy experience

Graduate of Nursing Assistant program

Formazione

High School Diploma or equivalent

Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or nursing student with one semester

American Heart Association BLS
