Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech to join our team in a part-time day shift. This position supports patient care under an RN, performing basic nursing activities, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living to enhance patient comfort.

You'll work within the Northwestern Medicine system, following our ethics and compliance standards, and participate in a busy unit with opportunities for professional growth and comprehensive benefits programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA / CMA / EMT or nursing student with one semester completed.
• American Heart Association BLS.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including vital signs and glucose measurements.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Manages unit workflow with the charge RN and/or assistant manager as needed.
• Answers calls and communicates information to staff, family, or patient.
• Performs pre-census and validates admission/discharge lists as needed.

Emergency Medical Technician

Nursing student (one semester completed)
