Aultman Health Foundation is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Tech for Memorial 6 East in Canton, OH. The role entails direct patient care under RN supervision, assisting with ADLs, specimen collection, and basic testing per physician orders. Includes responsibilities for monitoring and safety in a busy medical unit.

The position requires a High School diploma, BLS certification, and basic computer skills; full-time, afternoon shift, with alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider cert required.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Supports other direct caregivers as needed, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Performs activities of daily living including ambulation, meal intake, and hydration.
• Empties Foley catheters and assists with transfers to chair or log roll.
• Delivers meals and nourishments; maintains patient diet needs and refrigerator logs.
• Cleans equipment, stocks rooms, and transports patients as directed.
• Collects specimens and obtains blood glucose per physician orders and policy.
• Performs EKGs, Foley catheter removal, and bladder scans under RN guidance.
• Places patient on monitor telemetry leads when applicable.
• Applies external devices (SCDs, Pulse Oximetry, etc.) per physician order.
• Maintains hourly rounding and safety measures; may provide 1:1 bedside companionship.
• Documents care provided in Cerner; communicates changes to RN.
• Demonstrates Monitor Transport Technician competency within the first 4–6 months.
• Completes housewide mandatory education and maintains Basic Life Support Certification.
