Job summary

Aultman Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). The role involves direct patient care, specimen collection, vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The incumbent will document care in Cerner, perform EKGs, monitor patients, and assist with transfers and telemetric monitoring as needed. Attendance of BLS training and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate required.
• AHA Healthcare Provider Training (BLS) required.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct caregivers as needed under RN supervision.
• Performs activities of daily living including ambulation, feeding, and safety checks.
• Collects specimens and obtains blood glucose; transports specimens when needed.
• Performs EKGs and bladder scans under RN guidance.
• Documents care provided in Cerner and assists with charting.
• Transports patients and assists with transfers and discharges as directed.
