Job summary

Abrazo West Campus is seeking a dedicated Constant Observer to work under the supervision of the registered nurse, maintaining constant direct observation of identified patients. You will ensure safety, privacy, and compassionate care, documenting observations and reporting to the nurse as required.

Key duties include preventing unattended patients, proper use of call systems, and staying with patients during transports.

Qualifications

• Ability to read in English to follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Must have good customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains constant direct observation of identified patient(s) under RN supervision.
• Keeps patient within view at all times and never leaves unattended.
• Uses call light/intercom to summon staff for assistance or needed supplies.
• Accompanies patient during transport for diagnostics or procedures; asks RN before accompanying.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Reports observations and communications to the nurse and relief sitter as required.
• Adheres to safety protocols and conducts oneself professionally at all times.
