Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center is seeking a Constant Observer to provide one-to-one patient monitoring and maintain a safe environment. You will promptly report safety concerns and communicate changes in patient behavior to the healthcare team.

You will work under supervision with bedside RNs and Charge Nurses, supporting de-escalation and therapeutic communication while documenting findings and upholding patient-centered care. This role offers both full-time and part-time openings.

Qualifications

• Coursework/Training and Medical Terminology course or successful completion of hospital Medical terminology test within 90 days of hire.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous one-to-one observations of assigned patients.
• Maintain a safe environment and immediately report safety concerns.
• Observe and communicate changes in patient behavior, or activity
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication when appropriate.
• Collaborate with nurses and other members of the healthcare team.
• Accurately observe and document required information.
• Support Providence's mission, values, and commitment to patient safety.
