Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's Carondelet St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson seeks a Constant Observer to provide bedside safety and continuous observation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will identify risks, intervene to prevent harm, and support the care team in maintaining patient well-being.

Position emphasizes calm, compassionate communication, adherence to privacy, and rapid response to changes in condition while supporting a safe hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess effective interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work variable shifts, holidays and/or weekends.
• CPR Certification required; hospital training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Remain at patient bedside at all times.
• Remove hazards and unsafe equipment from the environment.
• Report unsafe/broken equipment or conditions to supervisor.
• Accompany patient to procedures/tests/therapy as needed.
• Refer signs of patient condition change to supervising RN.
• Assist in calming or reorienting patient in agitation or confusion.
• Communicate professionally with clarity and empathy.
• Observe patient privacy and maintain a quiet environment.
• Adhere to professional conduct and dress code.
• Maintain orderliness of patient rooms.
