Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo is seeking a compassionate sitter to provide direct continual observation of patients requiring special precautions, ensuring a safe environment during hospital stays.

You will remain with the assigned patient at all times during your shift, assist the RN to maintain a safe, patient-centered care environment, and communicate professionally to support all caregivers and visitors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some hospital experience preferred.
• HWC and verbal de-escalation training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct continual observation of patients requiring special precautions.
• Stay with the assigned patient at all times during the shift.
• Assist RN to create a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Maintain professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts.
• Apply patient-centered care delivery model as the foundation for all nursing care.
