UChicago Medicine is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator for a part-time role in Hyde Park’s 4NW Hospital Medicine unit. You will support patient care teams, maintain records and assist with admissions, while handling inquiries and coordinating internal requests.

The position emphasizes patient confidentiality and professional interactions with staff and patients. The role requires at least one year of office experience, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of general office experience, preferably in a medical/clinical setting.
• Good written and verbal communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively, uses discretion and good judgment, and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn applicable software.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the patient admission process.
• Answers patient intercom and routes requests to appropriate staff promptly.
• Arranges patient transportation to outside agencies.
• Coordinates facilities information (e.g. work orders) and tracks status.
• Maintains patient records/charts and secures required signatures.
• Inputs patient charges, assists in orientation of new staff, and covers units as needed.
• Answers incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously.
