Job summary

Mercy Joplin is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role focuses on individualized care, teamwork, and performing clinical and non-clinical tasks to promote patient wellness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in healthcare career program.
• BLS certification within one month of hire.
• PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds.
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient’s highest level of wellness.
• Works cooperatively with others as part of a team.
• Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.
