Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to assist in individualized patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. The role involves performing clinical and non-clinical tasks essential to patient well-being, within a collaborative team setting.

New hires may participate in Mercy's 175-hour PCA training and must complete BLS within one month, with competencies within three months. Lifts up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC or enrolled in healthcare career program.
• CNA preferred; BAC or relevant training optional.
• No prior experience required; Mercy provides 175-hour training for PCA role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN/LPN direction.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks.
• Work cooperatively with team to meet patient wellness goals.
• Maintain safety with lifting up to 50 pounds and standing protractedly.
