Job summary

Mercy is seeking a nurse tech to assist in individualized patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. This position emphasizes teamwork and supports routine clinical procedures and patient care tasks to promote wellness.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, provide transcripts, and maintain good standing with their school. BLS certification is required within the first month of employment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED and enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program.
• Provide transcripts showing completion of Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
• Maintain good standing with nursing program while in this role.
• Program is for nursing students only; if a student leaves the program they can no longer be a nurse tech.
• BLS certification required within one month of hire.

Performs designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.

Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program. Prior to employment, the nurse tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. The nurse tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in this role. This program is for nursing students only, if a student leaves a program for any reason, they can no longer be a nurse tech.

Certification(s): BLS Required within one month of hire.

Physical Requirements:
- Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: EMT, Paramedic or Previous Patient Care Experience

Certification(s): Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Patient Care Tech (CPCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state of practice.
