Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support the clinical care team in the KCC 5N Med/Tele unit. You will assist with daily living activities, collect specimens, record vital signs, and support procedures under RN supervision.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to safety standards, and teamwork within the Specialty Service. English proficiency and CPR/BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical assistant/patient care program with venipuncture and EKG skills.
• Clear communication and teamwork with the Specialty Service team.
• Documentation of training in Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate duties.
• 3–9 months healthcare experience preferred.
• English proficiency for effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Record vital signs and document intake/output as assigned.
• Perform procedures such as venipuncture, EKG, specimen collection.
• Support RN during selected procedures and care activities.
• Deliver meals, assist with menus, and support dietary orders.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and handle equipment/supplies.
• Transport patients and assist with discharge logistics.
• Observe isolation status and notify RN as needed.
• Participate in performance improvement and confidentiality practices.
