Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Patient Care Associate at MSH KCC 5N Med/Tele. You will support the registered nurse with patient care, daily living activities, specimen collection, and routine procedures in a fast-paced environment in New York.

Key duties include monitoring vital signs, assisting with ambulation, maintaining safety, delivering meals, and ensuring accurate documentation. A high school diploma and completion of MA/PCA training are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant program/equivalent with skills in venipuncture and EKG.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the Specialty Service.
• Documentation of Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate training.
• Three to nine months of healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to set priorities, problem solve, use proper judgement in difficult situations and be flexible.
• Sufficient oral and writing skills in English.
• American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with patient care activities and activities of daily living.
• Performs and records vital signs and basic procedures like venipuncture, EKG, and sample collection.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and assists with patient transport and discharge tasks.
• Transports patients, delivers meals, and assists with dietary orders as needed.
• Updates and documents care and discharge information in the proper systems.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities.
