Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support the clinical care team in a busy New York setting. You will assist registered nurses with patient care tasks, collect specimens, monitor vital signs, and help with activities of daily living to promote patient-focused care.

The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficient communication within the Specialty Service. Prior TA AHA/BLS certification is preferred, with prior healthcare experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate program or equivalent with venipuncture and EKG skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and collaborate with the care team.
• American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care activities and basic clinical tasks.
• Record vital signs and document intake/output as assigned.
• Assist with activities of daily living and ambulation.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and proper isolation procedures as directed.
• Transport supplies, specimens, and meals; support discharge processes as needed.
• Participate in performance improvement and maintain patient confidentiality.
