Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York seeks a Patient Care Associate to support the registered nurse in daily patient care activities across inpatient units, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, and ICU.

You will assist patients with activities of daily living, collect specimens, monitor vital signs, help with hygiene, and help orient new patients to the unit while maintaining a safe, clean environment and a collaborative team approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years PCA/CNA experience preferred or related medical roles.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of a patient-focused multidisciplinary care team providing services to patients in assigned areas (Inpatient units, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, ICU).
• Participates in patient admission and orientation to the unit; obtain and record data.
• Assist patients with changing; secure valuables; review unit rules and provide orientation to room and unit.
