Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support the clinical care team in delivering patient-focused care within the Specialty Service. You will assist RNs in daily living activities, vital signs, specimen collection, and basic procedures to promote safe and effective patient care.

The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe environment and collaborating with caregivers, dietary staff, and transport teams to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/PCA program with venipuncture and EKG skills.
• Proficient English communication, both written and spoken.
• 1–9 months of healthcare experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities and daily living tasks.
• Record vital signs and intake/output data accurately.
• Assist with specimen collection and basic procedures as directed.
• Provide patient transport, bed making, androom turnover.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and report equipment issues.
• Support dietary and mobility needs and respond to patient calls.
