Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, transport patients, and help maintain a safe, clean environment to support patient comfort.

The role includes basic tests, phlebotomy in designated units, routine vital signs, and collaboration with the care team to ensure a family-centered experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care with activities of daily living as directed by a Registered Nurse.
• Safely transport patients and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Perform routine vital signs, phlebotomy in designated units, and basic tests per policy.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
• Communicate any changes in patient condition to the RN immediately.
