Job summary

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit supports the patient care team by delivering direct and indirect care under the guidance of a registered nurse. You will help with daily living activities, monitor patient conditions, and respond to emergencies as needed, promoting safety, comfort, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months direct patient care experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and observational skills for patient monitoring.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes in a hospital setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Report changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge.
• Respond to emergency situations under RN supervision.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; support unit operations and clerical tasks.
• Participate in ongoing training and demonstrate commitment to quality of care.
