Job summary

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Assistant to join our nursing support team on the Observation unit. The PCA will work a 0.6 FTE schedule, 24 hours per week, 7am to 7:30pm with every other weekend.

Under supervision of professional nursing staff, the PCA provides direct patient care and indirect support such as equipment cleaning, patient transport, and stocking supplies. A CNA preferred or current nursing student with 1 year acute care experience and current BLS is

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Assistant preferred or current nursing student.
• 1 year of prior acute care experience.
• High School Diploma.
• Current AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care tasks under supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain unit functions: transportation of patients, stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and related duties.
