Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support the clinical care team within the Specialty Service. You will assist the registered nurse with daily patient care activities, collect specimens, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, documenting data, and supporting procedures under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (graduate or equivalent).
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant program/equivalent with skills in venipuncture and EKG.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the Specialty Service.
• Documentation of Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate training
• Three to nine months of healthcare experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS Certification
• Sufficient oral and writing skills in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities and daily living tasks.
• Perform and record vital signs and relevant data.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and proper patient transport.
• Support procedures and equipment setup; document appropriately.
• Communicate with patients, families, and staff professionally.
